Kobido facial massage in Calgary
A Japanese facial massage centred on rhythm, skilled hand techniques, relaxation and a supporting skincare sequence — offered in Calgary as a distinct wellness service.
What it is
A facial massage, not a facial.
Kobido is a traditional Japanese approach to facial massage. The work is in the hands: layered, rhythmic movements across the face, jaw, neck and shoulders, at a pace meant to settle the nervous system as much as the muscles. A light skincare sequence supports the massage rather than being the point of it.
At Tiki Massage this is a 30-minute standalone session. It can also be added to a 60-minute deep tissue massage as the 90-minute Restore & Rejuvenate appointment.
Between sessions, keep skin care simple — the home-care guide covers a gentle daily routine and what to adjust for your skin type and the season.
The session
What a session looks like
-
01
Settle and cleanse
A short check-in about your skin and any sensitivities, then a gentle cleanse to start from a clean surface.
-
02
The massage
Rhythmic, repetitive hand techniques over the face, jaw, neck and shoulders. Pressure stays comfortable and can be adjusted at any time.
-
03
Finish
A closing skincare step suited to your skin, and a few minutes to come back to the room before you leave.
Good to know
Who it suits — and who should wait.
- People who want a calm, hands-on facial massage rather than an active skin treatment
- Anyone booking the Restore & Rejuvenate combination
- Arriving without heavy makeup is helpful when practical
Please postpone or tell us first if you have had a recent facial procedure or injectables, sudden skin reactions, active skin conditions, infections, sunburn, or known product allergies. When unsure, check with the appropriate healthcare professional.
Positioning
A separate wellness service.
Kobido facial massage is offered alongside massage therapy, not as part of it. It is booked separately and appears as its own line on any receipt.
Insurance: it is not represented as an insured massage-therapy treatment, and insurance reimbursement should not be assumed. There are no guaranteed lifting, anti-ageing, pain-relief or medical outcomes, and no before-and-after claims are made. If you are combining it with massage therapy, only the qualifying massage-therapy portion is represented as massage therapy — confirm eligibility with your insurer before booking or submitting any receipt.
Questions
Kobido facial massage FAQ
Is it the same as massage therapy?
No. It is a separate wellness service, booked and recorded separately, and it should not be assumed eligible for insurance reimbursement.
How long is it?
The standalone session is 30 minutes. Combined with a 60-minute deep tissue massage it becomes the 90-minute Restore & Rejuvenate appointment.
How do I prepare?
Come without heavy makeup where practical, and tell us in advance about recent facial procedures, active skin conditions, infections, allergies or product sensitivities.
Will it lift my face or remove wrinkles?
No result like that is promised. It is a relaxation and wellness experience, not a medical or cosmetic procedure.
